Nous arrivons à la fin de notre parcours en Arizona. L’ambiance est toujours au beau fixe au sein des équipes, bien plus que sur le Solar Bike qui doit affronter un vent de face d’une extrême violence. Khoi doit d’ailleurs monter dans la voiture balais à mi-parcours car son vélo (tout fin) ne lui permet pas de tenir debout.
Nous faisons arrêt à Kingman pour la nuit avant de repartir vers Needle, à la frontière californienne. Sur ce trajet, Michel et Khoi prendront l’interstate car la vieille Route 66 est impraticable à vélo : trop de lacets, trop de montées mais quel paysage ! Une fois de plus, nous prenons une énorme claque à la vue des décors naturels que nous offrent les États-Unis.
Au milieu du chemin, nous tombons sur Oatman. Située dans le Comté de Mohave, cette ancienne ville minière connut son apogée en 1915 avant de devenir une ville fantôme dans les années 60. Aujourd’hui, elle est une sorte de décors western pour touristes. Chaque bâtiment est unique, des ânes se promènent en liberté. Après de nombreux miles dans la nature sauvage, trouver cette ville typique est un véritable étonnement. #surrealiste

We arrive at the end of our course in Arizona. The atmosphere is always good in the teams, much more than on the Solar Bike which faces a headwind of extreme violence. Khoi must also get in the security car mid-course because his bike (very light) does not allow him to stand up anymore.
We stop at Kingman for the night before returning to Needle at the California border. On this journey, Michel and Khoi will take the highway because the old Route 66 is impassable by bike: too many laces, too many climbs but what a landscape! Again, we were really amazed by the natural landscape offered by the United States.
In the middle of the road, we meet Oatman. Located in Mohave County, this ancient mining town reached its peak in 1915 before becoming a ghost town in the 1960s. Today, it is a kind of western landscape for tourists. Each building is unique, donkeys move freely. After many kilometers in nature, find this typical city is a real surprise. #surrealist
